While, like "Moby Dick", it contains lots of factual details, mostly quite accurate as confirmed by subsequent research, it is a much more complex tale than it appears to be on the surface.
Additionally I'm looking forward to getting to page 71, because the book itself just naturally opens to that page of its own accord.

I didn't know anything else about Melville except the famous Moby dick, but trust me: you have to read this book!
In both Typee and Omoo (1847), Melville’s narrators provide long, detailed descriptions concerning the missionaries’ efforts.
After leaving the island of Nuku Hiva, the main character ships aboard a whaling vessel that makes its way to Tahiti, after which there is a mutiny and a third of the crew are imprisoned on Tahiti.
