Poison hemlock is native to Europe, Africa and Asia, but invasive in North America. Even a very young poison hemlock will display the purple blotching. Hemlock is growing EVERYWHERE back there. Take the time to learn a plant in all its growing stages so you can identify it at any point, then take the time to do the same with all of the plants look-alikes, and DO NOT eat a plant unless you are 100% certain of what it is. Flowers are tiny, white and arranged in small, umbrella-shaped clusters on ends of branched stems.Poison-hemlock is a biennial and germinates throughout the year.
