The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.Trailhead is at the top of Lake Street, north of I-210 in PasadenaClear path, half shade, half sunny. I clocked in at just under 10 miles in 4 hours. Overall such a fun hike! Highly recommend taking the smaller trail when you get up to the split, it was the only real shade and it was a super nice view. Relaxed vibe. I would recommend you wear pants/long sleeved shirt, and definitely bring bug spray!
Most people on the trail were good at wearing masks. This viewpoint overlooks a tree-filled canyon and surrounding estates along Marinette Road. This trailhead is located off the barn/office parking area.Picnic area with tables and BBQs overlooking the Polo Field and wrapped into a gully around the hill to the east of the Historic Ranch House Lawn.Take the tree-lined paved service road to the right of the ranch House Lawn up the eastern side of the golf green.
Initially some steepness in the hike, but really nice views of the city all along. Short and sweet. Stay safe! Inspiration Point Trail is a 2.1 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Pacific Palisades, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. But overall it was a great workout.
Some parts are very narrow and dangerous. Great hike. Definitely come check it out. Saturdays and Sundays tours are offered 10am- 4pm. This spot is outfitted with a bench, picnic table and hitching post. This is one of my new favorite trails.
I definitely recommend and will be back!! One girl behind us slid quite some distance. Approximately 5.5 hours long. Took me about 5 hours for the whole thing, starting at just before 6am, which I *highly* recommend due to the summer heat. Experience multiple unique vistas of the Los Angeles basin and Santa Monica Bay with clear day views of Catalina, Saddleback Peak, and Chino Hills. Loved the benches with inspiring quotes and the view was nice too. great workout, I'm definitely going to sore.
The route taken includes two side trips to Inspiration Point and a portion of the Backbone Trail as far as the Chicken Ridge Bridge. Heavily trafficked, most people wearing masks, but some weren’t. Back on the main trail it is just a short ways to the large parking area at the top of Inspiration Point. After hitting Inspiration Point I went on to Mount Lowe campground to have a look, and then followed that much-wider trail, thinking it was part of this loop (which it isn't, instead it's the old cable car railline), but you can connect back around a little further around and take that back down. Inspiration Point itself is a flat granite shelf, about fifty yards (60 meters) long, with views of Yosemite Valley that are - sorry for being so repetitive - almost completely obscured by trees. This trail (including the entire loop) is close to 12 miles.
I didn’t wear one when I got on the inspirational point trail cause I was by myself most of the way. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round.
When done, return to the Inspiration Loop Trail and follow the road northeasterly (right).A trail heading northerly (to the left) deeper into the hills begins as a short downgrade to a large intersection.
It will start a moderate upgrade. I would keep it handy. There is a part of the loop that becomes more woodsy and it’s beautiful! Easy ride except when u get to backbone. Some parts with shade, and there is a small stream you pass at one point. When i made it to the top it was beautiful. Great view of the west side. But all were respectful and wearing mask. Hiking shoes would be a plus as it does get rocky!
Stay on the main trail which becomes a gentle down-sloping Eucalyptus lined road.Trailhead located adjacent to the maintenance office and the blacksmith barn.
2. There are a lot of rock slides and many areas are slippery and narrow because of the falling rocks and gravel. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. Get started early though...little shade in the middle of the day. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. Street Parking is limited but you can pay to park in the lot ($3 for 1 hour, $6 for 2 hours, $12 all day)Great beginner trail for me and the dog. The loop was a favorite of Will Rogers and the visiting elite of early Hollywood.
