The Schenectady Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services for the city of Schenectady, New York. The Schenectady Fire Department was called this morning to assist a worker who was stranded on a lift truck at Veterans Park. The worker was preparing to raise a flag on the flag pole when the lift malfunctioned while he was still on the platform. It is the home of ALS Engine 4, is staffed by a Lieutenant, a firefighter and a paramedic firefighter.Website designed and maintained by the members of the Schenectady Permanent Firemen's Association. SFD is made up of 4 firehouses, 4 paramedic engines, 2 trucks, 2 paramedic rescue rigs, hazardous material team, and a fire boat stationed on the Mohawk River.
