This is not your older brother's Terminator. July 4, 2015 There are bad sequels that still work as movies, basically.
Rank Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 10 Best Movies (1) There's corny dialogue with some that even twist out the famous lines once used (ex: "I'm back"...wtf), (2) a story that renders the once surprising possibility of a future war into an inevitable, predictable, visually inferior mess that keeps us far from thrilled, (3) most of the action bits are rehashed from the predecessors', (4) Nick Stahl's performance as John Connor into his early adulthood was incredibly weak and unconvincing compared to Furlong's in the 2nd movie, especially his narration with plotholes, (5) there is no Sarah Connor, and (6) the T-X design was half-borrowed from the Oscar-winning design of the T-1000 in T2, all done with no menacing features to offer.
Wastes no time getting very loud and very silly and never really lets up.
Doesn't have the gritty feel of 'Terminator' or the sleek cutting edge of technology look of 'Judgment Day,' but it's a decent addition to the Terminator mythos.

Also starring Claire Danes, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines had its world premiere when it showed out of competition at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. Sarah Connor, his mother, has since died, and their efforts in the second film have not stopped the creation of SkyNet artificial intelligence network. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines unceremoniously killed off Sarah Connor, but the original plan was for Linda Hamilton to return to the role. There's no reason for this to be as good as it is and yet it manages to work.
General Brewster sent them there to protect them from the nuclear holocaust to come. T3 doesn't even do that: it isn't a good action film, and isn't a good science fiction film.

Perhaps wisely, Mostow doesn't try to outdo James Cameron. As he will still become the leader of the human resistance, Connor is once again targeted by a Terminator sent from the future by SkyNet. His sequel has a B-movie spirit--swift, punchy, tongue often in cheek.
