The place was disgusting and full of people, with the crowd so big that no one was dancing but everyone was kind of swaying back and forth together with the music. 7 on a Saturday night- OUT OF FOOD. This is definitely the "go to and get you super drunk" place in New Orleans. Band was excellent and bartenders wer very friendly and fast service. We fought our way to the bar, grabbed our Hand Grenades, and immediately made for the exit.Nice clean place.

I LLOOVVVEEEE ME A GOOD HAND GRENADE!I must have been having a tolerance imbalance my first night here... One hand grenade had me literally forgetting some of the most important things in my life!! Overall, I found the drink to be sweet, but not too sweet to the point where your teeth start to hurt. No one knows what they put in it, but you won't remember it anyway. The staff is very friendly & the drinks are always consistent with taste & good.
It's a narrow space, but a fun one at the start of Bourbon Street. I first went with some friends during the Christmas holidays.
If you are on Bourbon, definitely try one!Nothing special about the place, but you should definitely stop in for a Hand Grenade to enjoy as you walk around Bourbon Street.I wanted to love it.
Beware, in the USA the operators of Tropical Isle have trademarked Hand Grenade so preventing other establishments not licensed by Tropical Isle from selling cocktails of this name. They were still waiting to receive their drinks when I walked back. (Seriously)....Get the shark attack!!! My boyfriend and I each ordered a grenade and holy moly it did the trick. I didn't have their Shark Attack but I had their hand grenades. I was already tipsy when I was drinking the frozen so this certainly sent me over. The "live entertainment" was on break the entire time we were there...I ordered a Red Bull & Vodka..they said their "Hand Grenade" energy drink was the same...however mixed with vodka it was gross.Always a hit.
They say you have to have the Hand Grenade when in New Orleans, so of course we ducked into Tropical Isle.
Both were good but they say you get drunker with on the rocks. When we got there we were told the line was long and it would be at least a half an hour wait.
