If you're going with new hardware, I'd highly recommend considering an AMD system- I recently upgraded from my 8 year old i7-2600k rig to a new Ryzen 7 3700x build, and I've been thoroughly impressed with the performance. if you want to know the difference try going a week having your 1080 monitor rendering 480p. I have an ancient i3 4160, 16 gigs of RAM and an rx 580 8GB - Eternal runs at 95-144 fps, dropping to 70 during heated moments (aka cutscenes showering enemies in a rain of particles). The only issue I had was with Doom 2016 and stuttering audio during the loading of the game, but it then settled down. I have an Intel Core i3 8100, and Doom Eternal has run fine, even if it's just at 900p or thereabouts. Install-base doesn't mean anything. I played all the way through on Switch and loved it. If you can put all your software and other commonly-used stuff on an SSD, it's worth doing, but just having your OS on there is still much better than nothing. Well, that seems to be a lie since people are still waiting for the Switch version. Hope there’s some news soon for those holding out.Anyone feel like you're playing a Bowser's Castle inspired level in this game? I think Nintendo wants to sell Switch for a solid three more years, if not four, and a pro model released next year (fall 2021) would perhaps give them the legs to make that possible. I'd definitely prioritize the GPU in your case, assuming you're aiming for at least 60 fps. I wouldn't write off HDDs just yet. It should be, you are rendering 4x the pixels after all.. minus another $400 later.In the end, I'll have a completely new system anyway.. so I suppose it works out. Then stuff like your downloads folder, music library, etc can go on a basic larger hard drive since they don't need the instant response as much. It seems to be a pretty badass card bells and whistles included with 6gb gddr6, though, not the latest cutting edge etc, but it should run the game no problem.. What is your OS? ~ and my load times are within a second. ~ though the SSD isn't mandatory, I'd imagine it would likely help. I wonder if it can still be done 100% on the card (no download required). Which i5s and i7s are you looking at specifically?

An SSD is one of the biggest factors in making your computer nice and fast, so if you're building a new machine, it's worth getting at least a 256gb one to put your system and programs on (or bigger if you can), so you're not bottlenecked by hard drive speed. The CPU is likely good enough to run Doom Eternal without a video card ( as the 3200G has its own GPU built in, and the board has 3 video outs ), but I already had a 1660 GTX Super so I'm using it instead, besides it has 6gb onboard. I bet such high framerate monitors cost a small fortune, too. I actually picked up an SSD a little while ago.

It was a huge deal to be getting such a high-profile AAA game relatively close to a simultaneous release, but that second part has been dwindling as the months pass by.I think we're years away from Switch 2, but I do think some sort of upgraded Switch 1 is in the works for next year. I don't know if Covid-19 has played a part in this game's delay, but it has been ages since it released on other platforms!I loved playing Doom 2016 on the Switch and so I was really excited to play Eternal on the same platform, but I have to admit the lack of news and footage or screenshots, with the platform again being treated like an afterthought, is a bit frustratingThey initially so positive about it, talking about how the delay Switch owners have to endure for multiplatform releases would no longer be much of an issue and how they plan to release the Switch version of Doom Eternal on the same day as other versions.
