It is within easy walking distance along the Uncompahgre River Recreation Trail, both from the West Main Trailhead and from the parking area in Cerise Park off of Shane's Way. I couldn't believe how many dogs are here on a nice day.

We sat outside this area and observed only to notice this place was full of many large dogs who were all pretty aggressive in their play.

Seems ridiculous.Reasons for 4 stars and not 5: No public hose to wash the dogs off with after (but plenty of constantly running water fountains throughout any public park in the city...) but a little station where they charge you $10 on weekdays for 10 minutes to quickly wash your dog off, or $15 on weekends.
Half mile down neighboring beach someone grabbed her Lucky for us $250 ticketThere is a story called "the rainbow bridge" and it's the place you go before u go to heaven and the animals you had in ur life are all playing and enjoying the sun and running freely and then they see you and they're so happy and together you walk the rainbow bridge to heaven. There's a nice view of the Skyline north, too.
The overall 4.25-acre park has a mix of wildland and turf areas for people to recreate and exercise their dogs. You are always greeted with a smile at the front desk and given a work out towel. My pug thought he was the boss of the beach and the pit I'm working on socializing had some great experiences. That's how awesome I thought the dog beach was. We only had to park 5 minute walking distance away. MonDog is committed to the ongoing preservation and improvement of Montrose Dog Beach through owner education, volunteer support, and community partnerships.

Thinking this was just bad luck...we picked up our dog and brought him back to the water. Well, when I go, all my animals will be running and swimming on a beach like montrose dog beach and we will run into the water together with all the other great people and pets we met today.

I pick ours up and it was over. The street parking (where legal) is still free. Located on the Northwest corner of Montrose Beach, this area is fenced and offers free dog waste bags and a dog-wash area. We went over Labor Day weekend and the beach was packed. I proudly own a fixed and trained pit bull that would not hurt a fly but has been snapped on by a smaller dog on multiple occasions. It is all fenced, except for the lake side of course. Montrose Dog Beach is free, but DFA tags are required for all dogs, and those cost $5. For such a crowded dog beach, it is relatively clean and well kept.
